ABOUT GENERAL EDUCATION   The General Education Department was established in 2005. The services offered by the department currently include the closely linked General Survey of Knowledge programmes (GEED 111 and 112) and the freshman English programmes (ENGL 191 and 192). In conjunction with the SPIKE programme, the aim is to provide a range of opportunities for students both to improve their English language skills and further broaden their horizons by developing a critical appreciation of a range of subject areas across the curriculum. The department also offers a wide variety of elective courses.
